So here’s the deal. I decided it’s best to create an All-time favorites beauty page because seeing all different kinds of beauty products can be extremely overwhelming. How do you know which is the right one? The products listed below are not just new products I’m trying and loving, but things I have continually used for years. These are the products I continually & always go back to. These products are my go-to’s, and I will always recommend to people. You can considered it the “best of the best” list. No matter the skin type, I have full trust that these products WILL make a difference. In no specific order, here’s what I use:
MAC Studio’s Studio Fix Powder:
This has been my go-to makeup powder for almost 10 years now. It comes with a sponge, which I used to use frequently. If you don’t use liquid makeup, I highly recommend using the sponge for a full coverage. If you want less coverage, I recommend using a brush. Either way, your skin will look flawless. For reference, I have switched between the C3 and C4 color. C3 for the fall when I’m a little more pale, C4 in the summer when I look a bit darker. You can also go in the MAC store and they will color match you for free. Definitely a great high quality product.
MAKE UP BRUSH CLEANER:
Another MAC beauty product. I’ve used multiple make up cleaners trying to find the best of the best. If you don’t clean your make up brushes, you 100% should be. When you don’t, you’re basically applying the bacteria on your brushes straight to your face. So, definitely do it at least once a week.
Even the number one selling brush cleanser on Amazon didn’t put a dent on this one. It’s a lightweight, scent-free product that works. It’s ability to not only clean powder out of brushes, but even get the liquid makeup off the hairs of the brushes is quite remarkable.
The best way to use this cleanser is to pour a bit in a cup, and rinse the brush in the cup. Then, put your brush under running water and run your fingers through it to assist in the cleansing. If still dirty, repeat the process. If the old makeup is still not coming out, it’s probably time for new brushes. I’ve noticed this cleaner can get even the hardest make up out of a brush. So if this one can’t do the job, none of them can.
Thayer’s Facial Toner:
After taking my makeup off at night and washing my face, I love to use this toner. Using a cotton ball, I pour a little bit of this toner on it and run it across my face. It’s amazing to see the dirt that’s still there and coming off on the cotton ball. What’s the difference between this toner and others? For one, it’s all natural. Second, while all other toners leave a burning sensation behind, this one doesn’t hurt at all.
Make-Up Brushes:
I’ve been using these brushes for the past 3 years, and plan to continue doing so for as long as I can. Quality make up brushes can get really expensive. I love quality make up, but I just can’t seem to get myself to spend $30 on a single make up brush when I need about ten of them. I also refuse to mix products with the same brush. It’s a big no no, and you really shouldn’t do it.
That’s when I found these make up brushes. Click here to check the latest price on this brush set, but the set is usually somewhere around $10-$15. What?! My first thought was “there’s no way these are quality brushes. They won’t last that long, and the hairs will probably fall out”. I’m a girl on a budget so I said “whatever, let’s try it”.
Wow- was I proven wrong or what… These are actually great quality brushes and they last for a VERY long time. I’ve never seen hairs fall out, but for my own clean-freak sanity, I order a new set every 6 months to a year. They’re easy to clean with my MAC cleanser, and the hairs are super soft.
Aztec Secret – Indian Healing Clay Face Mask:
This product is the best face mask I have found. Don’t let it’s cheap price fool you- this face mask works wonders. It actually has been used in the Aztec Indian tribe for thousands of years.
To use, mix with a little bit of apple cider vinegar. No, the smell of apple cider vinegar isn’t a pleasant one, but it works really well on skin. After letting it harden, wash off your face. You’ll be sure to feel a difference in how smooth and fresh your skin is. Repeat once a week.
Acne Extractor Tool Set:
If you have a few stubborn zits you want to get rid of, you need to do so in a clean and sanitary way. Using your fingers is a great way to pop it, infect it, and have it come back even bigger for a longer time.
Using this tool set, it not only allows you to remove the puss without the chances of infection, but it also is much easier to extract those stubborn blemishes.
Be sure to sterilize in between uses, and apply toner after cleaning out the pore.
Beauty Blender:
To be honest, I’ve gone back and forth between using a blender for my makeup versus using a brush. In the end, I’ve decided on both. Originally I had heard that the blenders hold a lot of make up in, therefore it going to waste. When I compared it to a brush, make up gets stuck in brushes the same amount- if not more.
In the end, the beauty blenders have won me over. They really do blend my make up well. If you use any sort of liquid makeup – whether it be foundation, bronzer, concealer, etc, these are the way to go.
No, they are not the true Beauty Blender. I’ve tried both, and I honestly haven’t noticed a difference between the two. The only difference I’ve noticed between the official Beauty Blender and the off-brand is the brand name and the cost. Buying it through my link, you’ll get it for a tenth of the price that you would from the official Beauty Blender brand.
Exfoliating Dermaplanning Tool:
You may or may not have heard of this product, but you should definitely know about it. Dermaplanning has been a recent phenomenon in the media. Many esthetician’s offer this as a procedure you can pay for. I’ve done it both with an esthetician and on my own. Though doing it through an esthetician is definitely less risky, doing it at home is totally doable.
What is it? It’s a tool that removes everything on the top of your skin. Specifically, it removes all the peach fuzz on your face, and also will exfoliate your top layer of dead skin at the same time. Please – be careful not to cut yourself. I am not liable for any cuts you may make. I will add though, that I’ve done this dozens of times now and never had any issues.
After using, my skin feels so smooth. Plus that dead skin won’t be clogging my pores anymore. If you’re not already, you should definitely be exfoliating your skin at least once a week. This is a great way to do so.
Hydro Boost Moisturizer:
Last, but definitely NOT least, is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisutrizer with Hyaluronic Acid. This stuff is so amazing, I’m not sure where to even start with it.
Whenever my skin is feeling dry, I always have this moisturizer on hand. Two reasons why I love it:
1) it doesn’t feel like I’m caking on just another skin care product. It’s super gentle, and absorbs in my skin really well.
2) It instantly gets rid of the dryness, and your face truly feels well moisturized. I know all moisturizers should work, but they don’t. This one does, and it does an amazing job doing so.
3) It contains Hyaluronic Acid- which helps prevent aging.
The bottle may seem a little expensive, but it lasts a really long time. You’ll fall in love with it as soon as you try it!
So there you have it – my all-time favorite beauty products. You’ll truly be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t try ALL of them. Be sure to comment below and let me know what you think!
