So, I just received my Summer 2019 FabFitFun box in the mail, and decided to share it with you. If you’re considering buying it, read here first. I’ll giving my totally honest review of every product I’ve gotten, and help you decide if it’s worth it. Disclaimer: There are links in this post to offer you discounts for your FabFitFun box. So when you click on that link, and use discount code FABFITFUN10, you’ll get $10 off your first order. BUT, you should know- I didn’t decide to become an affiliate with them until AFTER I had received multiple boxes for myself. I truly love this subscription so much, I wanted to be apart of it to help people get the best deals, just as those who helped me did. So here it is- my brutally honest experience of everything I loved and didn’t.
I’ve just picked it up from my doorstep a few hours ago, and here’s how it comes. It arrives at my doorstep in a box just like this. I will say: my two add-on’s were loosely floating around the brown box, which I wasn’t a huge fan of. For all the work put into the box, you’d think they’d put your add ons in there with it to make it look a little more professional. For everything else to look perfect, it’s something small that just really stood out to me. Still, not a deal breaker. After all, they are shipping out over a million a quarter. When opening the actual FabFitFun Box, you see the magazine on top, and all other products wrapped in tissue paper. It gives it all a clean overall appearance. Opening the tissue paper, it literally looks like they’ve played tetris. All the products fit in so well together. You know it had to have taken some time to arrange. I know every box has a few different products, so overall happy with their effort and the overall first impression upon un-boxing.
Let’s start with the magazine. A lot of people skip over this, but it’s worth taking a look inside. They go over all the products you’ve gotten, best practices, and plus some. This month, they’re introducing the Fabbys. These are specific entrepreneurial women changing the beauty industry. Overall, the magazine helps me feel plugged in to the company and part of the club. Yes, Eva Longoria is on the cover. You can’t not love her. She is like the queen of beauty, yall.
Now down to the dirty deets.
1st Product: The Sutra Professional Mini Travel Blow Dryer – Soft Touch Marble Value: $60
The first product I chose was this blow dryer. And probably the one I’ve been most excited about. Good blow dryers are expensive, and I have a really hard time bringing myself to spend $100 on one. First off, I love the feel of it. It almost feels like a silicone, though I’m not exactly sure what the official material of it is. It’s a lot smaller than I expected. I knew that it said “mini”, but I didn’t realize it was that miniature. The more I look at it, the more I feel like it really is the perfect travel size though. I do travel a lot and carrying a full size one definitely does take up a lot of room. It also comes with two accessories to style the way you’d like. Overall, I am happy with this product. It is ceramic, so much less damaging to your hair when applying heat. It does seem like great quality, and I am super excited try it out on my business trip this next week.
2nd Choice: Summer & Rose Navy Diamond Tote Value: $50
I chose this one because it is summer, and I would love a new bag to take to the lake or the beach. I will say- I am a bag hoarder, and have tons of similar ones… but I loved the look of it, so I decided to go for it. I feel like it looks a little small in this picture, but it is definitely a decent size. My favorite part is the rope handles. Definitely beachy, and a nice detailed touch to the summer look. They’re also pretty soft. The bag does have a clip to close, and a pocket inside for your wallet/keys/phone or any other valuable you don’t want to lose.
Choice Number 3: Burn 60 Resistance Bands Value: $34
I picked this product because I am into fitness, though I’ll admit I’m not the best at it. I love the idea of being fit, but right now I’m working out like once a week.. I’m getting married next year though, so I’m trying to get back with it. Small things like this to me are definitely motivating, and help me get back in the groove. Resistance bands are a great way to start if you don’t want to jump into an extremely difficult work out. This comes with three different bands with three different resistances- the light, the medium, and the heavy. Definitely super excited to try these out.
4th option- Mystery Choice Value: $38
Ok, y’all. I have to admit. The mystery choices have always been a little iffy for me. Sometimes, they’re not the greatest. I feel like it may be their leftovers from the previous season. But this time, they did not let me down. I got the Dr. Brandt – Luminizer Primer. If you know anything about Dr. Brandt’s products, you know that they’re super high quality, and it comes with a price tag. Primers are great to use. I’d say absolutely necessary. The makeup you wear probably isn’t good for your skin, and will probably make you break out. The primer is the layer that goes on between your skin and your actual foundation, preventing your skin from soaking in any harmful toxins. I’ve used Dr. Brandt’s Pores No More Pore Refiner Primer and loved it. I actually just tried this one out.. it’s a super light material and am loving wearing it.
Fifth Product: Intelligent Nutrients Refining Micro Polish Value: $57
I’m a huge fan of exfoliates. To prevent breakouts, you should be exfoliating twice a week. If you don’t your dead skin cells build up, and creates acne. No one loves acne. More than anything, my skin does always feel a lot smoother after I exfoliate. It’s an instant gratification that makes it an easy choice for me. I don’t know much about this brand or this specific product yet, but I’m excited to try it out. It does say it’s organic, and I’m all about natural everything right now. I’m more conscious than ever of what I’m putting in and on my body, knowing that a lot of foods and products out there aren’t necessarily safe for us (even if the FDA says so). I mean, why don’t we know why these cancer rates are so high today?! Anyways, this organic exfoliate is a check plus in my book.
Here are the other four surprise products they chose:
Invisibobble Original Duo Pack Value: $16
Okay so, these are neat. They’re strong grip pony tail holders. I do have long hair and will use these. I will say though- I have used these before and it broke while wrapping my hair up. Could’ve been a cheaper brand, but if you’re asking me, I’m not sure I’d pay $16 for these. Either way, I’m still going to use them. No sense in letting them go to waste.
Next: Generation Clay Ultra Violet Brightening Clay Mask Value: $39
So this face mask is made of Bentonite clay, which is a really great material. If you’ve never heard of the Aztec Indian Healing Clay, I absolutely recommend trying it. It’s like $6 on Amazon. It also is made on Bentonite Clay. Back to this product though- it’s organic. Another win for me. I’ll definitely be trying this one out tonight.
Whish Exfoliating Foot Mask Value: $32
So this one seemed a little random to me, but the more I think about it the more I want to try it. Have you ever gone to get a pedicure, and they’re taking off the dead skin cells of your feet, and you see how much they’re having to take off? Super embarrassing. Been there, done that. One time, I literally apologized to the lady doing my feet, and she said no worries (I mean, what else was she supposed to say?). She did tell me something interesting though. Your feet build up a lot more of that dead skin in the summer due to the heat. Also, if you’re wearing sandals, and you notice you have dry cracked skin, you should definitely give this a try. This is going to sound harsh, but people do notice, and it is gross. Moral of the story, regardless of the status of your feet, I think we should all be trying this one out.
Grace & Stella Rose Facial Spray Value: $25.95
So, I tried this one out as soon as I got my hands on this one. It does smell really good. Like, REALLY good. Being the organic freak I am, I have to wonder if spraying this water-like product all over my face with the perfume chemicals is totally safe? Then again, I could be paranoid and freaking out for no reason. Also, even though I live in Texas (yes it does get hot in the summer), it’s very humid, so my face doesn’t really get dry like it would in somewhere like Colorado. If I was living in a more dry area, I’d probably love this product even more. Still..it does feel good on my face, so truth be told, I’m still going to use this.
Add on #1: The Lyfestyle Co’s 100% Natural Ultimate Make Up Remover Value: $20
So I got this one because being the all natural, organic person I am, I figured it was worth the try. I paid $7 for it, and for that price, I would’ve gotten the basic store make up remover at the same cost. So why not? It looks like it’ll last me awhile. Also, it’s an anti-inflammatory, so it’s great for irritated and healing skin.
Add on #2: Vegamour VegaBROW Volumizing Serum Value: $79.95
So, I have to admit, I have a serious problem touching my eyebrows. So weird, I know. I literally don’t know anyone else who does this. But, I do know quite a few people who have too thin of eyebrows, or have trouble getting that full, filled-in look. I got this stuff through FabFitFun for $29. What a steal. Literally couldn’t find it cheaper anywhere. Totally happy with this purchase and excited to use it.
Other: $80 off for HelloFresh
We’ve been doing HelloFresh for almost a year and absolutely love it. Can’t use this since it’s not our first time, but I’ll definitely be giving to a friend.
Other #2: $15 Off the First Box for a Friend
This seems to be a better deal than I remember, but I could be wrong. Either way, I’m always encouraging my friends to try it. Definitely will give one of my sisters this.
Overall Opinions of the Summer 2019 Box:
Overall, I’m happy with it and super excited to try out all of the products. I was a little disappointed in the variety (the majority are all skincare products), but I know that they are quality- so I can’t complain.
- Total Value: $394. 90
- What I spent: $76
So, is it worth it?
Okay, yall. This seems like a no brainer, but if it’s not.. let me explain in a little more detail my opinion. I am a girly girl, and I love beauty products. But, I’d say I’m even more of a money freak.. I don’t like to waste money. Therefore, it can sometimes be difficult for me to spend money on products like this. Most of these, I wouldn’t buy on their own. But FabFitFun offers me such a great deal.. one that I simply cannot refuse. It allows me to stay up to date with the times, for a really really affordable price. I will say- it takes FOREVER to get your box in. Like.. a month. But I understand they’re a huge company, and to effectively manage their inventory and shipments, this is the way it has to be right now. Still- it’s totally worth it. I mean, you’d typically be paying $40-$50 for each of these products, but with FabFitFun, you’re getting 8-10 Products for that price. What a STEAL! If you’re still debating, feel free to use my FabFitFun coupon here and enter code FABFITFUN10 to give you $10 off. Hopefully this helps you out- whether you’re waiting for your box or debating whether to get it. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts. Which ones are you favorite products? Thank y’all!
