Alright y’all – FabFitFun has been around a few years now. I’m still shocked at how many people still have not heard of it! If they have heard of it, they haven’t tried it. If you’re one of those people that has not tried it yet, I highly recommend you do. FabFitFun really got me into trying out new products that I never would have otherwise. I’ve learned a lot about the latest and greatest beauty products, and discovered some great products for my skin.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD. If you’d rather wait to get yours in, don’t read any further. If you’re curious to see what I got in my box, below is all the details of what I got in mine.
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way.. Let’s Begin!
With my annual membership, I get to choose 5 customizations for my box every season. With the seasonal membership, you get to customize 3. Either way, you end up getting a total of 8-10 products for each seasonal box. Here were the customization options for the FabFitFun Summer 2020 Box:
Customization #1: Draper James Straw Bag ($75)
For my first FabFitFun Summer 2020 Box,I ended up choosing the Draper James Straw Bag. As for the other choices.. The charging pad honestly I just didn’t need, the Tie Dye towel I could’ve picked up at Target for $20, and the Eyelash Conditioner I already have at home. The Dr. Brandt skin care cream and the Pottery Barn diffuser were my other top choices. Dr. Brandt is a great brand, and I love their products. Plus- they’re not cheap, so this would be a great time to get it. Pottery Barn is also one of my top favorite stores, but the Draper James bag won me over.
In my FabFitFun Summer 2019 box, I also got a different summer bag, and actually ended up using it quite a bit. This one is even cuter than last years bag, and it’s perfect for the beach! Plus… we all know Draper James is a great high quality brand. Here’s what it looks like:
I cannot wait to use it this summer! It does have a pocket inside, and the bag itself feels like good really quality. It’s perfect for the beach, or even just a summer brunch out with some friends.
Customization #2: Michael Kors Travel PAssport Wallet ($78) and Business and Pleasure co. Cooler Bag ($59)
This was the hardest customization to choose from. I loved the Kimono, but by the time I picked out my customization’s, it was sold out. Boo. I had already gotten the Shampoo & Conditioner in another box last year (used it today by the way), and I hesitate to put any oily products on my already oily face. My top two choices were between the Cooler Bag and the Passport Wallet. The surprises are usually pretty decent, but I liked the Cooler Bag and Michael Kors Wallet enough to choose one of those. (I usually only do the Surprise Me if I don’t like anything else).
So how did I make my customization decision between the two? I didn’t. I got both! One of the many benefits of FabFitFun is the ability to get extra products for a steeply discounted price. I ended up getting that $75 wallet for less than $15. Here’s what the Business and Pleasure Co. Cooler Bag and Michael Kors Bedford Travel Passport Wallet look Like:
Let’s start with the Cooler Bag. The yellow is perfect for the summer season, and I love that it has both a small handle and a strap making it easy to carry. The inside is built for insulation, and is perfect for a BBQ or picnic!
The Michael Kors passport wallet I couldn’t pass up either. The inside has multiple pockets for all your cards. When I travel, I hate bringing my bulky purse as a carry on. You have to take out your driver’s license, then rush to put it back in that big messy bag to get through security. I usually end up packing the purse in my suitcase, and just carrying my ID and debit card separately. Probably not the smartest move considering those thin cards can get lost anywhere. Now that I have this, I can just carry this wallet. It’s flat, small, and perfect for travel. Plus.. it’s Michael Kors. It’s pretty tough to pass up any Michael Kors.. especially when it’s basically free. (I’ll explain at the end).
Customization #3: TOMS Sunglasses ($58)
For my 3rd selection, I chose the TOMS Sunglasses. I’ve used Blaq’s products before, as well as the Drybar Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler. The detangler I especially love, but since I already have some on hand, I had to skip. The moisturizing cream I skipped because Texas just really isn’t that much of a “dry” state. Let’s be real yall, it can be pretty humid. The Coola Sunscreen lotion I actually wish I had added to my bag as well.
The Giving Keys necklace I didn’t really understand. Reading through the magazine I got in my box, I realized it has a pretty cool significance. The Giving Keys is an organization working to end homelessness and help people transition into employment. It’s engraved with the words believe to help you fully embrace your possibilities. When the time comes, you’re supposed to give to someone who needs this message more than you. Pretty cool meaning if you ask me!
As for the TOMS, here’s what they look like:
These TOMS sunglasses might be my favorite thing in the whole box. The cat eye look for sunglasses is really such a fun fashion find, and they fit on my head perfectly. They’re comfy, and you’re supporting a good cause. (Did you know that with this purchase, FabFitFun is donating $50,000 to help fund a vision center in Bangladesh? TOMS has already established 5 other vision centers and provided over 41,000 medical treatments.) It always makes me feel good to know I’m supporting a good cause. I can’t wait to wear these more this summer!
Customization 4: Terre Mere Aloe & Tea Tree Toner ($54)
For customization 4, I could choose between the Terre Mere Aloe and Tea Tree Toner, the Zoe Ayla Ice Roller, and the Satin pillow. They’re all great products, but I ended up choosing the Aloe and Tea Tree Toner. I used to not like how many beauty products FabFitFun had in their boxes. It’s something people started complaining about, so they started implementing more of other fun products. After really analyzing whether I wanted to continue FabFitFun, I realized that I actually loved trying the skin products. Since I didn’t have any other products like this that I had chosen for my box, I went with the toner. Plus- tea tree oil has tons of benefits, and I can’t wait to start using it.
Here’s what the Toner looks like:
First off, I’m in LOVE with the packaging. The design of this box is adorable, and the bottle itself is glass, not that cheap plastic like many of the other products on the market. You can tell this brand prides itself in high quality. The formula itself is made for anti-aging and collagen support. At the same time, the aloe leaf juice will replenish dehydrated skin. Tea tree oil (the “super” ingredient) is an antioxidant clearing your skin of environmentally harmful toxins that prematurely age your skin. This is just a very brief overview of the many many benefits of this amazing toner. Did I mention it’s vegan? I do love a good toner, and this one is clearly high end. I’m ready to add this to my skin routine twice a day.
Customization #5: Issac Mizrahi Loves xo, Sienna Vase ($28)
For the last customization, I really would have been happy with any of these. They all seem like great products, but since décor for the home isn’t always an option in the boxes, I went with the Issac Mizrahi Loves xo Sienna vase. Here’s what it looks like:
This ceramic vase is perfect for a bookshelf, or a décor piece for your dresser. I’ve added a white sunflower to it, and I love how much it brightens up the room.
Surprise products
After your 5 products (regardless whether you’re an annual member or seasonal), FabFitFun will throw in 3 more products for you to try. Everyone’s box is a little different, but here’s what I got:
Surprise #1: Tarocco Sicilian Blood Oranges Foot Cream ($24)
At first, I wasn’t too sure about this foot cream. My first thought was “Really? Another foot cream?”. After looking into it though, I’m super excited to use it. This cream was discovered by the owner’s great grandfather in Sicily. Sicilian blood oranges are filled with Vitamin C and great for hydration. This product has been in a few luxury hotels, and people fall in love with it. It absorbs quickly, and has a great summer smell to it. Whether we do it enough or not, we all need to be taking care of our feet. Crackly dry feet are not attractive with your sandals on. Don’t be that person!
Surprise #2: Winky Lux Universal Brow Pencil ($16)
This one really came in handy for me. I do fill in my eyebrows and it makes such a difference when you do so. I’m almost out of my current one, so it was perfect timing. This Winky LuxEyebrow pencil is definitely not one of those cheap eyebrow make up products from Walmart. It’s large, gold, has a brush on one end, and the eyebrow pencil on the other. They claim this specific color works on all eyebrows. I’ll definitely be adding this one to the make up bag!
Surprise #3: Spongelle Hand Cream ($18)
I recently watched a show on Netflix that was all about what scientists have found in cheap beauty products. It was actually disgusting, and I’ll spare you the anguish. My point in telling you is that it scared me enough to really think about the types of products I’m applying to my skin. Buying higher end products actually do pay for itself. If anything, it’s brings peace of mind knowing that the ingredients are safe for my skin. Normally I wouldn’t spend $20 for 2 oz. of lotion. But, given in a FabFitFun box, I know this Spongelle Hand Cream will be my first choice in lotion for this season.
Add – On’s: 3 Machine- washable Masks ($11)
Like I mentioned earlier, FabFitFun allows you to choose extra products. Before I showed you the additional product I got from the customization list. With add on’s FabFitFun gives you hundreds of other products to get for a steep discounted rate. This time, I only bought one extra because I already got the additional customization item.
Let’s be totally real for a second… Hand Sanitizer, Clorox Wipes, and Masks are GOLD in the strange year of 2020. For $11, I was able to get 3 machine washable masks. How could I not get these? They cover my face really well, and are actually very comfortable to wear. These sold out pretty quickly, but leave it to FabFitFun to always have some awesome choices.
Conclusion:
So in total.. I got 10 high quality products for $71.
$45 for the annual subscription box, $15 for the passport wallet, $11 for the 3 masks.
How much was the box worth if I bought these products individually? $428.
Yep, you read that right. $428 worth of products. That’s more than 6 times the cost I paid.
In fact, if I had even just bought the MK wallet by itself, I would have paid more money than I would have getting all 10 products through FabFitFun. To me, that’s like getting 9 other high quality products for FREE. That’s such a steal.
If you’re questioning if the products REALLY actually cost that much.. I challenge you to price check them yourself. I’ve done it more than once to make sure I’m not getting ripped off. These actually are all just high end, expensive products you’re getting for steeply discounted rates. Who doesn’t love a good deal?!
If you’re ready to try out FabFitFun yourself and get any/all of these products, click here and get $10 off your first FabFitFun Summer box using the code PICNIC10!
For a seasonal subscription (meaning you pay every quarter of a year), the cost is $50 per box. For a yearly subscription (you pay all four boxes at once), the cost is $180 (equaling $45 per box).
Either way, using my discount is the cheapest way to get your first box for just $40. I highly suggest you try it just once, and I have a strong feeling.. you’re going to love it!
